Work with us to help advance collaboration, resiliency, and shared resources across the North Country and beyond. As we grow our coalition and network, we are seeking individuals and organizations from across the food system, in and beyond the Adirondack region, expert and amateur alike.

Working to build a more resilient food system rests on the critical voices and perspectives from all sectors of the food system, lived experience of individuals and organizations alike, and from all regions and communities that make up our diverse and unique Park.

Solidarity and shared experience

Why Join Our Network?

collective Impact

By representing Adirondack communities, we can speak with one voice, address mutual and unique challenges, strengthen statewide policy efforts, and advocate to the most salient agenda for the North Country.

mutual Support

Building community through collective and collaborative sharing, working groups to support organizations and communities working to address the various facets of the food system, and an opportunity to work together for a louder and more impactful voice.

Building community around shared challenges and opportunities, seeking collective action and approaches to meet those challenges, and work toward lasting change that matters to your communities

Membership Tiers

Beginning in 2025, AFSN has created two unique tiers for membership in the coalition: individual and organizational. Recognizing the important contributions of individuals as well as organizations to the success of the Network AND the need to broaden and elevate the unique and diverse landscape of voices and experiences, AFSN has taken the next step to grow its representation.

Importantly, AFSN is working to create more paths to increasing the variety of experiences in the region and representation on our Steering Committee and other relevant decision-making mechanisms. These tiers will directly contribute to AFSN's annual impact, advocacy and policy priorities, and help shape the future of our food system.

Individual

Our individual members provide lived experience, local knowledge, and expertise to AFSN activities. As the most effected by regional and local policies and programs, these voices deserve a seat at the table. See below for the benefits:

  • Engage and learn from community partners during bi-monthly meetings, cohorts and working groups, events, and monthly newsletters

  • Help shape programs, policies, and education around food system challenges and opportunities

  • Participate in calls to action, events, and opportunities within the food system

  • Discounted rate and early registration for the annual Food Justice Summit

  • Bring your voice and your community to AFSN!

  • Contribute to a more resilient food system

Requirements: While there are no specific requirements (knowledge, sector, or geography), we ask for a recommended donation of $25/year to help sustain Network communications and efforts. However, we do not wish to have this requirement for your participation and in should no way impede your involvement.
